In collaboration with Noods radio, Dance Policy ran an exhibition focusing primarily on Dance culture across the world, with 10 selected photographers including Dance Policy’s own internal photography. Featured in Resident Advisor, sponsored by Edwin Jeans and DEYA brewery. Produced a shirt and custom made made beer that commerated the event. Range of different sized prints, A1 to A4. Extremely sucessful in terms of attendance.

Dance Policy X Calle Mag {New Almudena}

Exhibition at OnArtSpace, Madrid, 28th - 29th January 2023

Exhibition in Madrid in collaboration with Calle Magazine. We chose 10 Madrid based photographers to showcase photography based around youth, fashion, and dance culture. Open for two days, with DJs playing throughout the day. Local designers also exhibited their handmade jewellery and clothes.

Dance Policy held a free photography exhibition on UK youth and dance culture at Ducie Street warehouse, on the 17th to 18th of September, called {Mind the Gap} The gap between London and the rest of the UK is widening, for creative opportunities. Cities, particularly Manchester, need to begin championing creatives in their local communities. Opportunities for People of Colour, or for those outside of the classical demographic of white, straight, males, are even slimmer. {Mind the Gap} is a photography event dedicated to exhibiting UK youth and dance culture with photographers based in Manchester and closing the gap. Involved are: @Mocap40, @f3mal3_gaze, @_Eglebdv, @filmbyAnisha, and Dance Policy’s own photographs (Zak). Alongside the exhibition was a guest speaker, and Grime artist, Elijah, who has been inspiring a whole generation of artists, creatives, and musicians since beginning his label Butterz in 2007. Paradime was a unique opportunity to run an exhibition in an abandoned mansion, just off curry mile, Manchester. The work exhibited is a mixture of my own photography and the works of others from the physical magazine of Dance Policy, issue 06.

I also created an art piece labelled “All My Royal Friends” which dressed up the norm conforming royal family in commonly worn youth culture clothing. Creating an ironic split between conformist culture and counter culture.

This was more of a DIY exhibition than professional, as you see from the other exhibitions listed here. But this photography shown felt fitting into the theme of the photos being exhibited.

The RE X Dance Policy exhibition was perhaps one of the biggest, in terms of attendence. Inviting photographers from across the UK to exhibit their work on youth and dance music culture. We then interviewed some of the photographers who had their work exhibited. Majority prints were A1.
